From Long Island, New York, Tom has worked
full-time as a Police Officer for nine
years in Harlem. Because of his passion
for acting, he attends casting calls whenever
he gets the chance.
Tom, 38 years old, became interested
in acting when he was eight years old.
"My parents were very ambitious in getting
my twin brother and I into acting," said
Tom. Growing up, he appeared in television
commercials and a few movies, and worked
as a print model.
Tom learned a lot of his acting skills
when he was younger through seminars that
were set up through his agent. As he got
older, he took acting classes at the School
of Performing Arts in New York City and
SUNY Oneonta. Some of his first films
include Fame and Class of Nukem High as
a student. After doing quite a few commercials
for clients such Scope, Coppertone, Jello
Pudding, Nabisco, Hardees and Tonka Toys,
Tom became eligible to become a SAG actor.
Tom has recently had roles in films including
Rodger Dodger, Maid in Manhattan, starring
Jennifer Lopez, and Two Weeks Notice starring
Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant. In Two
Weeks Notice, Tom played many roles, as
a boyfriend, police officer, church patron,
and stand-in. "The film was really fun
since I played so many parts," said Tom,
"Sandra Bullock was a sweetheart, it was
a really good experience." Tom also appeared
in a print advertisement for American
Express.
In the future, Tom hopes to continue
to act as much as he can. He is currently
looking into being represented by an agent.
"I hope to keep acting until I am too
old to walk," said Tom.
He advises potential actors, "If you
don't get called back, don't give up.
Keep going through with it…you have to
be persistent. Always update your resume
and pictures."
TCT and Castnet wish Tom the best of
luck with his acting career!
